The book is: Tatouage polynésien d'après Gotz
(Pacific Promotion, Tahiti)
I opted for Marquesan patterns representing
the waves and the ocean, while my outline was
from a picture of a manta ray. I just “curled” the
tail (which is normally straight) for evident
esthetic purpose.
