Comments from Elly: It’s a girl who wanted Polynesian
style for her first tattoo. She loves the ocean and the
esthetic of the ray itself. I don’t think she intended to
put more meaning into it. After a long research she hadn’t
come up with anything she liked, so I designed it specially
for her after checking some book about Polynesian symbolism
(well, what is known about it nowadays).
