His debut album Welcome to the Cruel World was praised for its insight on urban oppression and his subsequent releases, including Fight for Your Mind, were international hits. Enjoying a fierce following in America and especially in Europe, Harper released a live concert DVD, Live at the Hollywood Bowl, in 2003.
